One Burrito two burritos...episode #2 in the books!!

Another successful burrito project meet up was handled! Thank you to all 14+ volunteers that came over on Sunday, November 17, 2013.  Thank you to all my friends that made food donations. Also thank you to Casa Sanchez (#1) for once again donating a tray of Mexican rice and refried beans. You are awesome!!

We made 75 burritos for the homeless at Project Achieve Shelter in North Long Beach. The ingredients are simple and tasty: beans, rice, potatoes and freshly made salsa by one of the volunteers, Miguel! Thanks again, Miguel!!  Karen, Virginia, and Miguel prepared the potatoes!!

It was great to all my friends come together and be a part of something wonderful! Thank you to all!! I heart you!!

Aside from the facebook group we now have a facebook page, called Burrito Project Long Beach 2.0. Please like the page and stay up to date on all things BPLBC 2.0!! Together we can make a tad difference in this world!  Help me feed the homeless of Long Beach, California!  Thank you!!

p.s. our next meet up is on Dec. 8. please RSVP on the facebook invitation.

Thanks Casa Sanchez (LBC)!

We would like to formally thank Casa Sanchez on Anaheim St for their generous donation/contribution to BPLBC 2.0. Casa Sanchez donated a tray of refried beans and mexican rice to our first meet up on October 27, 2013.  Their donation yielded 80 burritos.  Those 80 burritos were enjoyed by the homeless at the Project Achieve shelter.

Thank you again Casa Sanchez!! I hope we can continue this effort in feeding the homeless of Long Beach!!

WELCOME BPLBC 2.0

On October 27, 2013, I launched my newest venture/project and I am super happy. I present to you Burrito Project Long Beach 2.0 aka BPLBC 2.0 aka Burrito Project LBC 2.0.  I have been asked why the 2.0; because there is already in existence a Burrito Project in Long Beach.  I am not sure if that BP is still active but just in case I added the 2.0 to differentiate my group with the other one.

I am happy and grateful I have a great support system/team. I have been wanting to start one in Long Beach for about 3 years and my dream has come true. We made 80 burritos and delivered them to the Project Achieve shelter on North Long Beach.  Anyhow, we are at it for a second time and it will be this Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 from 4-7pm approximately. For our first project/meet up, we will be preparing and wrapping 75 burritos and delivering to the Project Achieve shelter in Long Beach.

I will be seeking volunteers, monetary donations, and supply donations.  BPLBC 2.0 is a community effort operated by volunteers who are motivated by good will.  We are a non religious group that just wants to help others in the name of greater good.  We have no hidden agendas or drama. We just want to help others who need us.

If you feel like you are in agreement with this philosophy then join us in our effort. Contact me, Lupe,  at bplbc2.0@gmail.com
